Escrow and refunds

Auto-bid and auto-buy deposits sit in Omni's escrow wallet, held for one order each. Every refund is sized from that order's own transactions on Solana and sent automatically.

The escrow wallet

Escrow is an operator wallet Omni uses as your purchase agent. It is not a contract you withdraw from yourself. It holds many users’ deposits at once, so its total balance says nothing about whose money is whose. Omni never uses it that way.

When each refund is sent

Lost auction
Once Collector Crypt's return arrives from the escrow account. Usually within one business day.
Won below max
Once Collector Crypt releases the unused escrow. Omni's fee stays; the rest comes back.
Never placed
Right away. The deposit never left Omni's escrow wallet.
Cancelled limit
Right away, after the deposit is confirmed on Solana.
Bought limit
Right after the purchase's payment is confirmed on Solana: the deposit, minus the price paid, minus 2%.

Held for review

If the chain doesn’t add up, the refund is not sent automatically. It waits until the amounts match. That happens when Collector Crypt returns less than was escrowed, when a deposit can’t be found arriving in escrow, or when the same deposit is recorded on two orders. The order shows what is waiting and why.

Sending

Each refund is recorded with its transaction signature before it is broadcast. If a send is interrupted, the next check settles it from the chain instead of sending twice. A send that fails or expires is retried. The signature appears on the order in Dashboard so you can look it up yourself.
